The mayor of Arona, José Julián Mena, delegates the field of urban planning to the mayor Díaz Oda
Arona City Council has restructured the distribution of areas within its government team. As DIARIO DE AVISOS learned, the mayor, José Julián Mena (PSOE), handed over the urban planning delegation, which he personally assumed after the dismissal of Luis García in June 2020, to Leopoldo Díaz Oda, the one of the mayors of his highest confidence who until now concentrated several areas of weight. This movement implies, in turn, other changes, since Díaz Oda will devote himself entirely to the management of urban planning -in addition to being the spokesperson for the PSOE in the municipal plenary sessions-, which brings him to divest itself of Obras y Servicios Públicos, assumed by Ruth Alexandra Lorenzo, and Housing, directed by Julia Raquel Morales.
The field of culture, which was entrusted to the mayor Yurena García, on maternity leave, passes into the hands of José Alberto Delgado, councilor for tourism and historical heritage. Municipal sources assure that the competence of Culture will return to Yurena García from the moment she joins the government group. The changes are completed by the creation of a town hall for Ruth Alexandra Lorenzo.
Municipal sources confirmed yesterday that the changes in the municipal government team were a “simple question of organization, without a political background”.
